Bematech Hardware Alleviates Speakeasy’s POS Troubles

Case Studies - January 5, 2015

Speakeasy has been a favorite neighborhood bar and grill for residence in Long Beach, New York since its inceptions in 2007.  For those who like to unwind after work or have a place to watch the game the bar is a perfect option with multiple plasma TVs.  If you’d rather stay a while, for a delicious meal off their eclectic American cuisine there’s plenty of room for that too.  Nightlife includes great live music which accentuates the relaxed and lounge-like atmosphere.

After struggling with outdated hardware and software that held back the flow of ordering and was a cause of frustration for the staff, Speakeasy’s owner, Jamie Dowling, decided to make a change.  Jamie was introduced to Bematech’s products in 2014 at the International Restaurant and Food Service Show, “We chose Bematech’s hardware because of their reputation and the excellent recommendation Long Island POS had supplied to us”.

12120_540667916051984_1637352093_nJamie needed to purchase new Point-of-Sale terminals as well as cash drawers.  Vinny DePalma from Long Island POS recommended the SB9015F All-in-One terminal.  “We like using Bematech equipment because of the great warranty & MSRP for our customers. Best bang for your buck and we don’t have to worry about getting replacement parts because it’s covered under the warranty. The units are also very easy for a technician to work on. We have implemented a lot of different models of printers, AIO units, cash drawers, etc. in some of the busiest restaurants/bars in LI and NYC and they can depend on the hardware to keep their businesses running at their normal flow.”

The SB9015F delivers the perfect blend of quality, performance, durability, and economy that make it the Best-in-Class hardware for Point-of-Sale All-in-One touch screen systems.  The SB9015F is equipped with an industrial computer core and can support a wide range of operating systems.  The cash drawer recommended was the CD415.  This cash drawer has a narrow footprint (16”x16”) that minimizes the amount of counter-space required for the Point-of-Sale system. The deep under-till storage compartment can hold a large amount of coin rolls and media. With steel ball-bearing slides and a durable powder coat finish the quality and price of this cash drawer could not be beat.

Having had such a positive experience with Bematech products made Jamie’s decision for hardware in his new restaurant, Swingbellys, quite easy…Bematech! Assistant Manager, Ryan, said Speakeasy had a hard time with their previous hardware and software.  They were looking for a solution that would be easily programmable and have an excellent touch feature that would be trouble-free to manage for all service staff.  RestaurantPro Express software was installed on the All-in-One terminal.  Software reports have been a valuable asset to the restaurant, helping to easily manage inventory and predict sales trends for many of their draft beers which has in turn increased their profitability.  Ryan feels that the hardware and software systems complement each other and sees improvement in efficiency daily.
